Our Story

At For Freedom Initiative, our journey began with a simple yes. A yes to make as many people aware of human trafficking, in as many places we could, by any means possible. Founded in 2016, by a domestic violence survivor, Cecilia knew this issue was something everyone needed to know about. She embarked on a mission to host an awareness walk in San Antonio, TX that hundreds of people would come to attend.

Several family and friends were a part of the group of passionate individuals who helped to start For Freedom Initiative. They shared a common belief in the power of collective effort to effect positive change. Fueled by a desire to create a brighter future for generations to come and change the culture and misconceptions of what society thinks human trafficking is, they set out to build bridges, break barriers, and amplify voices that often go unheard.

Through countless hours of dedication and unwavering commitment, For Freedom Initiative has grown from humble beginnings into a dynamic force for good. Since 2016 For Freedom Initiative has created programs that promote change. Talk for Freedom is a podcast dedicated to providing awareness and giving survivors a platform to share their stories. The Alamo City Freedom Walk brings awareness to action by walking together as a community to spread awareness of this issue. The Dove Scholarship helps to provide financial assistance to survivors pursing continuing education. Brothers Against Trafficking addresses the demand of sex trafficking by educating and providing appropriate resources to men. Our Care Kits provide basic essentials to organizations who are on the frontlines providing restorative care to victims of sexual abuse.
Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of collaborating with like-minded partners, volunteers, and supporters who share our vision and heart. Together, we’ve achieved remarkable milestones and overcome formidable challenges, all while staying true to our mission of fostering inclusive communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
As we reflect on our past accomplishments and look towards the future, our resolve remains stronger than ever. We will continue to educate one person at a time, one day at a time, until every person is free.
